Karlovac County through ITF Doubles the Demining Funds
The Karlovac County and the International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victim Assistance (ITF) from Ljubljana signed today, February 5, 2010, the Memorandum of Understanding relating to demining of areas in Karlovac County. The County allocated 350.000,00 HRK from its 2010 budget that will be matched by donor funds through ITF and used for demining of projects in Josipdol municipality. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the County Prefect of Karlovac County Mr. Ivan Vučić and Director of ITF Mr. Dorijan Maršič.
The signing ceremony was also attended by CROMAC Assistant Director Mr. Miljenko Vahtarić, Head of CROMAC Regional Office Karlovac Mr. Damir Stojković and Head of Josipdol municipality Mr. Zlatko Mihaljević. With these funds, there will be the area of Pitomi Javor in Josipdol municipality that is one of the most mine contaminated municipalities in Karlovac County demined.
