Delegation of the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Turkey Visiting Croatian Mine Action Centre and Government Office for Mine Action

Director of the Croatian Mine Action Centre (CROMAC) Draen Jakopec and assistant directors Miljenko Vahtari, Neven Karas and Tomislav Ban hosted a delegation of the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Turkey in their three-day visit to Croatia.
The Turkish delegation consisted of the brigadier general Erhan Sipahioğlu, Head of Modernization Department, Ministry of Turkish National Defence, brigadier Ali Gngr and colonel Ediz Erdem from the Modernization Department, Ministry of Turkish National Defence, brigadier Hseyin Grgen, military attach of the Republic of Turkey and Emina Krkali, secretary at the Office of the Military Attach of the Republic of Turkey.

The guests from Turkey held meetings with representatives of CROMAC and Government Office for Mine Action. The hosts presented the organization and functioning of the Centre as well as the work of CROMAC Board of Directors. The Turkish delegation also visited a demining project on the territory of Zadar County and the test site of the CROMAC - Centre for Testing, Development and Training Ltd. in Cerovac. They also held another meeting with Mr Oto Jungwirth, director of Cluster for Humanitarian Demining Abroad and visited the demining machine manufacturer, the company DOK-ING Ltd. from Zagreb.
The guests expressed satisfaction with their visit to Croatia and opportunity to be given an insight into the different aspects of mine action system which they consider to be among the best ones in the world.
