Mine Risk Education (MRE) in the Framework of the Ministry of Interiors Action "Safe Hunting"

On December 17, 2014, there was a presentation of the Ministry of Interior's Action ''Safe Hunting'' held in the hunting lodge ''Stari gaj'' in Novo Selo (near Komarevo). The event was attended by representatives of the Hunting Federation of Sisak-Moslavina County and Hunting Associations. CROMAC representatives held a presentation about mine danger and provided information on suspected hazardous area (SHA) of the Republic of Croatia and Sisak-Moslavina County, marking situation and mine victims. Special emphasis was put on circumstances of mine incidents involving hunters in the previous period. The hunters were also presented the use of CROMAC MISportal for the purpose of obtaining current information on SHA and raising their safety during hunting.
The aim of the project Safe Hunting is to sensitize hunters and raising awareness relating to carrying arms, wearing adequate clothes and marking, warnings about danger threatening from moving around hunting grounds given some parts of them are still contaminated by mines.
