Mine Risk Education (MRE) Held in Vrlika


On Thursday, February 5, 2015, the employees of the Split-Dalmatia Police Administration and Croatian Mine Action Centre (CROMAC) held a presentation on mine danger in ''Milan Begović'' elementary school.
There is another 24,5 km2 of suspected hazardous area (SHA) in Split-Dalmatia County out of which 10,5 km2 on the territory of the Town of Vrlika.
Therefore, around 60 junior grade students were educated about mine danger on the wider area as well as danger threatening from residual weapon, mines and explosive remnants of war (ERW).
The students were distributed educative materials and were informed about ways to act in case of running into suspicious objects. They saw and educative cartoon on mine danger adjusted to their age. They were informed about emergency phone numbers 112 and 192.
Demining operations on 960.895 m2 are currently in progress on the wider territory of the settlements of Potravlje, Laktac, Dabar and Vučipolje in Hrvace municipality in Split-Dalmatia County.
