Education about mine danger in Gunja

On April 16, 2015, the Demining Committee of Lions District 126 Croatia in co-operation with Lions Club Beli Manastir and Croatian Mine Action Centre Regional Office East organized and held two lectures entitled 'Mine Danger'' in Elementary school Antun i Stjepan Radi in Gunja.

With this action, the Lions Club Beli Manastir continues the co-operation with CROMAC through active involvement in the action ''April month of protection against mines''.

The action was supported by Croatian Red Cross upanja City Association, Lions Club Beli Manastir, Ministry of Interior, Vukovar Srijem Police Administration, Anti-explosion Department and Croatian Mine Action Centre Regional Office East.

The lecture was attended by ca. 150 students from first to sixth grade and about 120 students from seventh to eight grade.

The program consisted of lectures on mine danger held by employee of the Vukovar-Srijem Police Administration, Anti-explosion Department, Mr. Josip Colari, representative of Red Cross, Mr. Dragan Mitrovi and Mr. Dubravko Kruarovski, head of CROMAC, Regional Office East. The students were informed about mine problem, demining and marking situation in the Republic of Croatia and Vukovar-Srijem County.

At the end, educational materials- posters, educational notebooks and DVD Bembo and friends against mines were given to school library.
