Within the action ''April – month of protection against mines”, lecture about mine danger was held in Medveščak Library in Zagreb by Mr. Dražen Šimunović, head of the Department for Education and Victim Assistance and Mr. Mladen Crnković, Senior Advisor in the same Department.

Mine action, mine victims situation, mine suspected areas in Croatia, types of mines and other explosives that can be found as well as how to act near mine suspected areas, and how to use CROMAC MIS portal were some of the lecture topics.

Although war events occured a long time ago, unfortunately, Croatia is still faced with mine problem. Mine suspected area covers over 527,00 km2 in ten counties and seventy seven cities and municipalities.

Therefore, there is still a need for education and raising awareness about mine danger, especially in April, month of protection against mines, when agricultural and many other outdoor activities begin.
