12th International Symposium and Equipment Exhibition MINE ACTION 2015

The Office for Mine Action of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, Croatian Mine Action Centre (CROMAC) and Croatian Mine Action CentreCentre for Testing, Development and Training Ltd. are organizing 12th International Symposium and Equipment Exhibition MINE ACTION 2015 which is to be held in Biograd, Croatia from 27 to 30 April, 2015. The Symposium will be held under the high patronage of the chairman of the Croatian Parliament Mr Josip Leko.
The Symposium will consist of plenary sessions, a field demonstration, workshops and working meetings of IARP, TIRAMISU and RACVIAC. Previous eleven symposiums were the framework for meetings of business sector, scientists and civil society organizations participating in mine action activities which contributed to identification of new technological solutions that accelerated mine clearance process and made it more efficient and safer.
The Symposium became the global umbrella gathering in terms of mine action problematics and it is visited by many people every year. Around 160 participants from 32 countries confirmed their attendance at this year's Symposium. The opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 28 April, 2015 at 10,00 at the Conference Hall of the Adriatic Hotel in Biograd at sea, Tin Ujevi Street no.5.
Welcome addresses will be held by Ms Dijana Pletina, director of Government Office for Mine Action, Mr Draen Jakopec, CROMAC director, Mr Nikola Pavkovi, director of CROMAC-CTDT, Mr Stipe Zrili, County Prefect of Zadar County, the ambassador H.E. Mr Branimir Mandi, RACVIAC director and Mr Damir Rilje, Croatian Parliament representative and envoy of the chairman of the Croatian Parliament. Mr Rilje will also officially open the Symposium.
On Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at the Gaj test site near Skradin, there will be a field demonstration organized starting at 9,00 hrs. Demonstration will consist of the work of demining machines, MEDEVAC procedure using a helicopter, training of bees for detection of mines and work of MDD teams.
