On Monday, 27 July 2015., in Podum, Otočac (Lika-senj county) the second time this year Mine Risk Education has been held. Twenty participants of the international camp from Germany and Belgium got acquainted with mine situation in Otočac and the surrounding area. They were also given the educational materials with instructions of what to do if you accidentally stumble on explosives and unexploded ordnance. After presentation of the photos of hazardous devices which can still be found in large numbers in the minefields around Otočac, participants got familiarized with the markings that warn of mine threat and the importance of respecting the mentioned warnings. Participants have also had many questions about the mine situation in their surroundings, and seriously apprehended all warnings about the necessary caution in the area where various construction activities are being performed.
