Training Developing local networking and exchange of the good practice of providers of psychosocial support to the victims of torture and civilian war victims held in Rovinj

The training Developing local networking and exchange of the good practice of providers of psychosocial support to the victims of torture and civilian war victims was held from September 11 to 13 in Rovinj in the organization of Documenta Center for dealing with the past and Center M.A.R.E. The main purpose of the training was exchange of the experience in providing legal, medical, psychiatric, psychological, psychosocial support in the rehabilitation of victims of torture and civilian war victims.
With the participation of representatives of civil organizations, Ombudsman from Rijeka, Ministry of Veterans' Affairs, Ministry of Justice and Women's Court the training was attended by the representatives of the Croatian Mine Action Centre Marta Kovacic and Igor Detelj. Within the panel An insight into the experience of working with mine victims and other explosive devices Igor Detelj has presented through his personal experience coping with the mine incident of a family member while the professional part of his presentation presented educative and coordinating role of CROMAC in assisting mine victims through the formation of the new database which would define in detail the needs of these victims. Family Jeli from Petrinja that started the family agricultural business where they grow aronia was presented as a positive example of the rehabilitation process after the mine incident. The importance of the participation of CROMAC in this type of training is manifested in networking with various representatives of state institutions and civil organizations with the aim of exchanging experiences and concrete help in solving the problem of mine victims.
