Final conference of the project "De-mining Programme in the areas affected by floods - Vukovar-Srijem County"

The final conference of the "De-mining Programme in the areas affected by floods - Vukovar-Srijem County", financed by the European Union under IPA Component I - Transition Assistance and strengthening institutions for 2011., has been held on Thursday, 29 October 2015, in the Nijemci village.

Throughout this program, contractors were ceded for the realization of the two demining projects, area size 791,753 square meters in total, around the municipalities of Nijemci (Somovac forest) and Vrbanja (Debrinja forest). The total value of the works amounts to 767,059 euros, out of which 652,000 euro were granted funds from the European Union.

The project was successfully completed in six months, which is twice less than it was possible according to deadline for implementation defined in the Grant agreement, signed with the Central Finance and Contracting Agency.

The final conference was organized in partnership with the Mayor of the Nijemci village, and has gathered a large number of representatives of local communities and institutions that are actively involved in noted program. During the conference, prefect of the Vukovar-Srijem County Boo Gali and mayors Ivica Sep and Ivica Klem, were officially handed over with the Demining Certificates for the areas that were realized throughout the program.
