A large number of finds in GJ Božin vrh and Vajin vrh in Ličko senjska County


Since the end of May 2018, demining has begun in the area of Kapela, Božin vrh and Vajin vrh in the area of Ličko senjska County.
According to five design projects, mine operations are established in 2.8. square kilometers in total.
Mentioned activities are financed by the State Budget and the funds for the General Useful Forest Functions (FASD), in accordance with the Financing Agreement for Forest Demining and Forestry Financing Agreements, from OKFŠ compensation collected during 2018, which total value of 55 million HRK was intended for mining and for 502 ha of forests and forest land, signed by Minister of Agriculture Tomislav Tolušić and CROMAC Director Zdravko Modrušan.
During the demining operations in these areas, it has been found 131 pieces of explosive remnants of war (NUS, PPMR-2A, PMA-2). In the forthcoming period the area in Ličko-senjska County will have in plan to realize the 3rd phase of the Operation 5.2.2. in which Ličko-senjska County would receive grant from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, which would demolish additional 8,4 square kilometers of agricultural land.
Let’s remind ourselves that in the first two phases Ličko-senjska County has achieved high 134 million HRK of EPFRR grant for demining of agricultural land.
