Twenty Iraqi Men Being Trained by CROMAC-CTDT Ltd.

On Monday, May 7, 2012, CROMAC-CTDT started training for twenty Iraqi men on the subject of the use of machines in humanitarian demining. The training is organized by CROMAC-Centre for Testing, Development and Training Ltd. Besides the theoretical part, the attendees shall visit several demining worksites in Croatia as well as demining machine manufacturers. They will be presented the work of demining machines at the Cerovac test site. The Iraqi delegation consists of high-ranking military officers and mine action experts as well as representatives of the Ministry of Interior.
The attendees expressed satisfaction with the organization of training and hospitality of the hosts. They also admired the natural beauties of the Republic of Croatia. From the talks we have held with some delegation members, we found out that they noticed the wish of the Croatian people to reconstruct the country, especially in the war-torned areas, regardless of the limited financial means. According to their impression, Croatia mine action system is ranked above average when knowledge and experience is concerned. The guests from Iraq are convinced that they will confirm their first impressions this week too, during the practical part of the training.
