Beginning of demining financed from the Territorial Co-operation Programme INTERREG V-A Hungary-Croatia 2014-2020

On 2 September 2016, the contractors ''Istraživač Ltd.'' and ''Piper Ltd.'' were introduced to demining operations in Osijek-Baranja County in accordance with demining contracts worth 12,7 million HRK.
Stated operations were financed in the framework of the Territorial Co-operation Programme INTERREG V-A Hungary-Croatia 2014-2020, as part of the De-mine HU-HR II project which has been included into the Programme as a strategic project and the first among the territorial projects to be approved and contract signed. The total contracted area which is to be demined after the realization of this project amounts to 1.456.319 m2. It is located on the territory of Jagodnjak, Darda and Draž municipalities and the Town of Belišće.
Demining of 945.903 m2 will start on the territory of the inundation zone of the river Drava, in Osijek-Baranja County, along the border with Hungary. In line with the approved Execution Plan, the contractor ‘’Istraživač Ltd.’’, including the subcontractors’ capacities, plans to engage 107 deminers, 6 demining machines and 14 mine detection dogs during demining.
Demining operations on the territory of inundation zone of the river Danube in Draž municipality are about to start at the same time. It is planned to engage 70 deminers, 8 demining machines and 14 mine detection dogs. The contractor is a demining company ‘’Piper Ltd.’’. Planned completion of operations is in 60 working days.
